Centering on Mind, Body and Spirit: A Campaign for Wellness

About the Campaign

Centering on Mind, Body & Spirit: A Campaign for Wellness builds on our mission. Our $7.5 million campaign will fund construction of a 17,225 sq. ft. Wellness Center where programs and services offer a holistic approach to healing. It will be an environment where young women who have experienced trauma will learn good health habits to replace self-harming behaviors. To Learn more about the History of Uta Halee visit utahalee-cooper.org.

The campaign will also fund construction of two new cottages to replace an outdated dormitory. The third element of the project is a renovation initiative; it complements the construction projects.

To date, our campaign has enjoyed support from foundation and individual gifts. We hope you will join these donors in giving your support. There are several ways you can contribute including our naming opportunities.

Quote from Lynn Wallin Ziegenbein

"Uta Halee Girls Village plays a crucial and unique role in social services in our community. As Nebraska's only residential treatment center for adolescent girls, Uta Halee provides hope and healing for young women at a critical time in their lives. The Peter Kiewit Foundation has donated support to the Village for decades and endorses its work and professionalism.

Our Trustees are pleased to support the "Campaign for Wellness," because they are confident that this new facility will help the organization continue to do its best work for future generations of young women who turn to Uta Halee to help them re-build their life and health."

About Some of our Dedicated Campaign Donors

Throughout the Village's 57 years history, foundations, corporations, volunteers and individuals have generously supported its services, campus improvements and endowment. These dedicated donors are now embracing the Campaign for Wellness. Their enthusiasm is attracting gifts from a new generation of benefactors.

Before the campaign was announced in October 2006, Uta Halee had received a Peter Kiewit Foundation challenge grant and pledges from Lozier Foundation, Suzanne and Walter Scott, Jr., and the William and Ruth Scott Family Foundation.

Since that announcement, "first time" gifts have been received from the Sherwood Foundation, and the Amy L. Scott Foundation. Other gifts ranging from $5.00 to $300,000 have helped fund the campaign. Each gift is welcome and each gift is important.

New gifts from the established donor family and the broad community are critical to the success of this campaign. They will help the Village meet the terms of the Peter Kiewit Foundation challenge grant. They will also help forge a connection between a community that values the lives of its young women and Uta Halee Girls Village.

We welcome your support. A gift of any size will help us make a difference in the lives of the young women at Uta Halee.
